MOLDOVA CONSIDERS ONLY PEACEFUL SOLUTION TO TRANSNISTRIAN CONFLICT - PRESIDENT MAIA SANDU
The President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, has said that Chisinau is considering only a peaceful option for resolving the Transnistrian conflict. She stated this on TVR-Moldova channel on Thursday evening, the INFOTAG news agency reports.
Asked whether Chisinau is ready for a solution to the Transnistrian problem after Ukraine wins the war against Russia, Sandu stressed that "work is already underway on a plan to reintegrate the country."
"We are modeling different situations. But I repeat: for us the resolution of the Transnistrian conflict means only a peaceful solution, this is very important," the head of state informed.
In addition, the President noted that "the solutions being developed are also based on the fact that the Transnistrian settlement should not hinder Moldova's European integration."
"The work is underway. The possibility of solving the Transnistrian problem may appear, and we must be ready for it, so we are working with a group of experts. It is too early to talk more about it or to hold public discussions on this issue," Sandu concluded.
