MOLDOVAN POLICE DETAIN FORMER TRANSNISTRIAN LAW ENFORCER FOR ORGANIZATION OF ILLEGAL MIGRATION

The Moldovan police detained a former Transnistrian law enforcer on suspicion of organizing illegal migration. According to the Moldovan Ministry of the Interior's General Police Inspectorate, the man was detained in Chisinau while driving a car as a result of operational search activities and criminal procedural measures carried out by Moldovan border police officers in coordination with the Hincesti Raion Prosecution Service.

According to operational information, the detainee is a member of a criminal group specializing in the illegal migration of Ukrainian citizens through the Transnistrian region, from whom a fee of 2,500 euros and more was charged for services provided. The detainee had been under active surveillance by law enforcers for approximately two months.

The suspect was detained for 72 hours. Investigative actions are continued to establish all the circumstances and identify other members of the criminal group.
