09.12.2003 CHRYSLER MOTORS TO BUILD SERVICE CENTER IN CHISINAU (NEWS CONFERENCE IN INFOTAG)

Chisinau, December 18 (Infotag). Chrysler Motors is going to build its own $1 million technical maintenance and service center in Chisinau within next 3 years.

Already in the first half of 2004, the corporation will invest about $350 thousand in the construction project, Chrysler Motors Moldova Director General Alexei Serjant told a new conference in Infotag today.

“The facility will be a Mecca for respectable automobile public, where the owners of Chryslers, Mitsubishis and other prestigious cars will be able to enjoy time in a bowling hall or a restaurant while waiting for their cars being serviced”, said Alexei Serjant. Asked about the company’s price policy next year, when excise duties on car imports will be raised here, company manager Vasily Yarotsky said Chrysler is ready to sacrifice much in order to leave its current prices as they are now, and to divide in equal parts with the buyer the excise burden on limousines having large engine volumes.

Last 12 months, the Chrysler Motors Moldova increased sales by a whole order – up to 75 cars. Last week alone, it sold 9 cars. To mark the company’s 7th anniversary and the approaching Christmas and New Year, its administration has prepared gifts for every new Chrysler buyer – a digital video camera, and each 7th buyer will spend 2 weeks in a 5-star hotel in Tunisia.
