DEDEMAN HOTEL BOASTS NEW HOT-SPOT FOR INTERNET USERS

Chisinau, March 15 (Infotag). Intel Corporation jointly with Nippon group of companies has launched in Dedeman Grand Hotel in Chisinau a wireless Internet zone – hot-spot.

Dedeman sales manager Mihail Rusu told a news conference Tuesday that the zone – a pilot project of the Dedeman Hotels & Resorts International chain – is one of its kind in Moldova.

The new Internet facilities are installed in the Hotel lobby, the ground-floor restaurant and the conference hall; free for Dedeman’s guests the service allows Intel Centrino laptop users to have wireless access to internet using Wi-Fi 802.11b technology.

“In perspective, for our guests’ convenience, we intend to install similar facilities on every floor. I hope our example will be followed by other public and business organizations of Chisinau,” said Rusu.

Dmitry Kisel, Intel re-sales manager for Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova, said the first wireless Internet service in Moldova was launched – courtesy of Intel and Nippon cooperation – in December 2004 at the Academy of Economic Studies.

Every four seconds a new wireless Internet spot appears on the world map and Moldova should be part of this development, Kisel added.

Alexei Snitkovsky of Nippon Technology – overseeing the technical part of the project – confirmed that a hot-spot is capable of securing wireless connection for computers and printers within the radius of 50-100 meters.
