Should a snap election be held in Moldova next Sunday, only four organizations have chances for entering the next Parliament – the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS), the Party of Socialists (PSRM), the Sor Party and the Platforma DA party, as per the findings of the socio-political research for February, carried out by the Date Inteligente (iData) sociological company, which were presented in news agency Infotag on Wednesday.  

According to the poll results, the PAS could win 28.09% votes, the PSRM – 21.33%, the Sor Party – 6.49%. All the rest parties would be not able to clear the 5% election threshold. It is noteworthy that as many as 24.18% respondents were uncertain about their political preferences, and 10.57% stated they would not go to the polls.     

The above figures were received from the group of the so-called ‘random respondents’. But in the other group – of the so-called ‘determined voters’ who know whom they will vote for, the findings were as follows: with their voting, already 4 parties can win seats in the next Parliament namely the PAS (43.05%), the PSRM (32.69%), the Sor Party (9.95%) and Platforma DA (5.24%).   

On the basis of these results, the PAS may win 48 mandates in the new [101-member] Parliament of Moldova, the PSRM – 36, the Sor Party – 11, and Platforma DA – 6.   

Asked which party was the most active organization in February, 26.2% respondents said the PAS, 24.5% -- the Party of Socialists, 4.3% mentioned Platforma DA and 4.1% said the Sor Party.  

The public opinion research was carried out by telephone on February 19-27 and covered 1252 respondents, of whom 1.4% were citizens of Moldova residing permanently in the Transnistrian region. The pollsters are saying the error should not be in the excess of ±2.7%.
