Business tycoon Liviu Secrieru, a relative to Moldova ex-President Igor Dodon, became in February the owner of the Eastern Chisinau Boiler Plant for a bargain-basement price of 1 million euros, though the object's estimated price is 3.5 million euros, Mikhail Polanski, a member of the Executive Committee of the Collective Action Party "Civilian Congress", stated at a news conference in Infotag on Wednesday.

According to him, the huge object has a territory of nearly 11 hectares, a railroad branch, 11 buildings, a gas pipeline and electric networks.

"The cost of metal scraps alone, which have accumulated at the object for decades, is about 2.5 million euros. The Eastern Boiler Plant is definitely a property stolen from the State by using a thievish corruption scheme", stated Polanski.

He named the railroading of such a scheme "a marauding that must be punished for according to the law".

The activist stated that already today he would file with the Prosecutor General's Office an application that would contain concrete facts and information about the Secrieru bargain. He hopes for an independent and efficient investigation of "this criminal corruption scheme".
