MOLDOVA NATIONALS GETTING VASTER POSSIBILITIES TO SETTLE IN QUEBEC
Chisinau, September 3, 2008 (Infotag). The Quebec Immigration Bureau (BIQ) in Vienna says that 85% of Moldova citizens applying for emigration to this Canadian province have chances to receive residence permits.
BIG Public Relations Officer Christina Mirtcheva told a news conference in Infotag today that to live in Quebec means to live in a French-speaking, democratic and prosperous society that combines North American modernism with European influence. Quebec offers a multitude of advantages: a strongly developed economy and modern know-how, exceptional professional perspectives, various health-protection and education opportunities, well-protected environment, dynamic cultural life, beautiful nature.
In her words, the main contingent of immigrants to Quebec in 2002-2006 were people aged under 35 (71%), 72% had university education, and 54% spoke French.
In the framework of the 2007 Immigration Program, 85% applicants from Moldova received permission to come and reside in Quebec, which Christina Mirtcheva named as a fairly high indicator, for the average proportion of applicants from all countries who receive such permission is 61%. In 2008, the Quebec authorities are ready to accept 46.7 to 49 thousand immigrants.
