13 may, 2015
PEOPLE’S MOVEMENT FOR CUSTOMS UNION TO SUPPORT SOCIALISTS AT JUNE 14 ELECTIONS The People’s Movement for the Customs Union has decided to support the Party of Socialists (PSRM) at the forthcoming local elections, and is calling on other organizations to follow its example.

Movement Chairman Oleg Topolnitchi explained at a news conference in Infotag on Wednesday that the decision to back the Socialists appeared after a thorough analysis of the PSRM Program and goals, which revealed that the objectives followed by the two organizations largely coincide and are aimed at the development of the Moldovan state, its sovereignty and values, and at the development of the national economy.

Topolnitchi said that the Movement will support the Party of Socialists in other populated areas, too. Some of its activists have suspended membership of the Movement and are running as candidates on PSRM lists in various parts of the country.

“There are 12 Left parties in Moldova. If they had united efforts and supported the Socialists, then we could well save Moldova and continue its development as an independent, sovereign and territorially integral state”, said Oleg Topolnitchi.
