17 november, 2015
CIVIL SOCIETY REPRESENTATIVES SAY AUTHORITIES ARE MOCKING AT PEOPLE Representatives of civil society maintain that Moldovan authorities are mocking at country’s population, failing to ensure a decent living for citizens.

Honorary Chairperson of the Party “For a United Moldova” Anna Tcaci said during Tuesday’s news conference at Infotag that Moldovan citizens became victims of thefts and lawlessness, committed by political class at the highest echelons of power.

“People are suffering from the considerable growth of tariffs on electricity and natural gas, which will lead to raising of prices on essential goods. In terms of salary, Moldova is approaching the level of the poorest countries of Africa”, she said.

According to Tcaci, the people were left to their fate and mostly affected are pensioners, socially-vulnerable families and the disabled.

“People are poor, thus they become weak and can easily be manipulated. Pensions and salaries do not cover even the subsistence wage. We are worried about the society’s degrading, the growth of poverty, the betrayal of citizens’ interests. We are asking politicians to obey the Constitution and primarily the right to decent living, health, well-paid job and welfare”, she said.

Member of the Moldovan Women Association Ana Gutu said that the country’s youth wants a prosperous future and job in Moldova, to be able to remain in their home country.

“Stop lying and creating unclear alliances. Instead, help the young people of Moldova in order that later they to improve and develop our country”, Gutu called on Moldovan authorities.
