22 january, 2016
STUDENTS OF THEOLOGY UNIVERSITY TO CONTINUE THEIR EDUCATION AT MASTER’S DEGREE Protopresbyter Theodoros Zisis from the Thessalonica (Greece) said at the news conference in Infotag that a new master course of “Theology and science” will be introduced in the faculty of theology at Moldova State University.

In cooperation with the Greek Church, professors from universities of Thessaloniki and Athens, who specialize not only in theology, but also in science will come to Moldova to help to establish the master’s degree.

“Cooperation with the Moldovan Metropolitan Church and the teaching of theology is one of the main goals of our visit to the Republic of Moldova. I have recently met Metropolitan Vladimir, who has supported and blessed us in the initiative to open the magistracy”, said Zisis.

Together with his colleague Matei Vilcanescu, who is also Chairman of the Romanian Orthodox community from Piraeus (Greece), they came to Moldova at the invitation of the international theological symposium “Inter-religious syncretism”, which discussed many issues, such as the forthcoming Ecumenical Synod and its goals, independence of the Church, problems of common calendar and fast.

According to Zisis, coming to Moldova, he was very happy to see that “the country is traditionally Orthodox and adhered to the Church canons”.

“Grece, which was considered as traditionally Orthodox strange about ten years ago, began to accept new laws, because of integration into the European Union. These laws destroy families and our traditions. Before Christmas we were very concerned about the legalization of marriage between homosexuals; if things continue in the same spirit, all Orthodox Christians of Greece will run away to Moldova”, he said.
