REPRESENTATIVES OF MEDICAL CENTER OUTRAGED BY ATTEMPTS TO DEPRIVE THEM OF OPPORTUNITY TO TREAT CHISINAU RESIDENTS

Representatives of the private medical center PRO SANO are outraged by attempts to deprive them of the possibility of treating residents of Chisinau.

The administrator of the center, Larisa Moscalu, said at a press conference at the INFOTAG agency on Wednesday that the medical institution has been operating for more than 20 years in the Buiucani sector of the capital, increasing the number of patients from 1,000 to 10,000 persons.

"In recent years, we have experienced a pandemic, successfully helping our patients, which has rallied the team and proved the effectiveness of our six family doctors. Since 2010, PRO SANO has been under contract with the National Health Insurance Company (NHIC). All this time we have been inspected, but there has never been a complaint about the quality of services provided. However, in February 2022, an act of inspection was drawn up by NHIC S specialists, allegedly about some violations. In May, the same company checked the same period of the center in 2021. As a result, the NHIC terminated the contract with us. All this is an attempt to put pressure on the staff of PRO SANO in order to take it over," she believes.

At the same time, Moscalu stressed that there is an order of the Health Department of Chisinau City Hall, signed by the head of the department, Boris Gilca, which prescribes the transfer of doctors of the center to other hospitals, as well as the transfer of patients' documents.

"Gilca talked to me repeatedly about the fact that there are numerous complaints about the quality of the center's services. But upon hearing the demand to be more specific, he avoided answering. I have no doubt that there is an agreed position between him and head of the NHIC Ion Dodon, regarding the pressure on our staff," the administrator considers.

Aureliu Scortescu, the center's lawyer, asked the court to restore the contract with the National Health Insurance Company and also asked the National Anti-Corruption Center to scrutinize Gilca's activity for an apparent abuse of his official powers.
