TRANSNISTRIAN REFUGEES ACCUSE AUTHORITIES OF DELAY IN CONSTRUCTING HOUSING
Chisinau. The Movement of Transnistrian Refugees accuses the authorities of dragging on the construction of the second block of apartments for the forced migrants from Transnistria.
Chairman of the Movement Anatolie Bizgu said at a news conference on Monday that the absence of financial resources retards the construction of a block of apartments in the Milescu Spataru in the Ciocana sector of the capital city.
“The Council of Europe Development Bank granted a targeted credit in the amount of 4.9 million euros to Moldova for the construction of this block of apartments. The Ministry of Finance must now conclude an agreement with the Mayor’s Office on the crediting of this building for 7.6 million euros, where the state’s share will constitute 2.9 million euros. Though they promised to us to do this before June 6, the agreement has not been signed until the present moment. The credit was granted for 20 years with a five-year grace period and a 2% annual interest”, Bizgu remarked.
In his words, if the authorities do not allocate the promised financial resources and do not begin the construction by September , the refugees will stage protest actions.
The Government built a block of apartments for Transnistrian refugees in the Ginta Latina Street, which was commissioned last year and about 90 families moved in that house. About 50 more families are in need of apartments.
