Chisinau, November 4 (Infotag). Not so long ago an open-air martial arts festival took place near the Chisinau zoo to mark the 25th anniversary of Moldovan karate.

Speaking at a news conference in Infotag, Chairman of Moldova’s YMCA Roman Ostapenko said the festival has been organized within the frame of the “Healthy Generation – Nation’s Future” and the “Youth Against Drugs” programs brining together 20 martial arts clubs and federations.

“This Festival is about giving master classes (rather than competing), during which representatives of various styles and schools of martial arts can demonstrate their skills,” he said.

“The festivals such as this allow kids and their parents to decide what of kind of sport they prefer. Karate is more than just sport, it is a way of thinking; a school of fostering one’s mind and body
