Chisinau, November 17 (Infotag). Rudolf Wallisch, the BMW Managing Director for Central and Eastern Europe, has voiced satisfaction with how the Corporation’s official dealer in Moldova, Auto Space company, runs business here.

Mr. Wallisch told a news conference here today that despite a small market in Moldova and relatively low standards of living, Auto Space maintains fairly high indicators of BMW car sales in this republic.

The Head of the BMW Regional Office is paying his first visit to Moldova, and has familiarized himself in detail with the Auto Space Technical Center. According to his estimates, the Center fully meets the BMW Group technical requirements.

Rudolf Wallisch said that Auto Space Director General Mr. Victor Miculet has managed to create a good working team able to solve any problems on a high professional level.

Asked by Infotag to assess the Moldovan dealer’s profitability indicator by a 10-point scale, Rudolf Wallisch replied that at the present stage, Auto Space can well be given 7-8 points. Its entire profit is invested in development for the sake of constantly maintaining the positions of a leader in the market, offering top-quality services to premium-class car owners, the Regional Director said.

Victor Miculet told journalists his company is not going to rest on its laurels, and will have achieved new technical heights already by mid-2005.

“We invest considerable means in personnel training. Our mechanics are paid good and stable wages, not to mention managerial staff”, remarked Mr. Miculet.

The high German guests from the BMW Group confirmed the latter saying, referring to a concrete example: Mr. Valeriu Mocanu, a Moldovan Auto Space mechanic, recently won a BMW global annual competition of professional skills, having won the title of the best mechanic in the vast BMW Group of companies.

According to the Group’s data, there are over 6000 BMW motor vehicles in Moldova.
