10.01.2007 ACŢIUNEA EUROPEANĂ ACTING PERSISTENTLY TO GET OFFICIALLY REGISTERED Chisinau, January 10 (Infotag). The Acţiunea Europeană [European Action] socio-political movement hopes that regardless of all the impediments being put to it, the new force will eventually be registered by the Moldovan Ministry of Justice. Movement Chairman Anatol Petrenco told a news conference in Infotag today that all necessary documents had already been submitted to the ministry, including 6,639 applications by movement members. He said, “The Ministry has not only denied registration to us but sent our documents over to the General Prosecutor's Office without whatever grounds. They are accusing us of forging the membership admittance applications. However, only 5,000 such applications are necessary for a new formation to get registered”. European Action’s Deputy Chairman Nicolae Rosca advised that the Ministry of Justice’s actions had already been challenged with the Appeals Chamber and the Supreme Court. In his opinion, the country’s Communist leadership does everything possible to not let new personalities and new formations to Moldova’s political life. Acţiunea Europeană appeared at the local political arena in late 2005, and held its constituent congress in Chisinau on October 22, 2006.
