NORWAY WILL GIVE MOLDOVA 30 MLN. EUROS FOR ENERGY DEVELOPMENT, STRENGTHENING EDUCATION AND GOOD GOVERNANCE

Norway will provide Moldova with another 30 million to achieve the republic's goals of utilizing renewable and cleaner energy sources, strengthening the education system and promoting good governance. The press service of the Energy Ministry informed INFOTAG that this was announced by Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre at the “Round Table on Energy” organized by the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) in Oslo.

The official noted that Moldova has become the seventh biggest beneficiary of the Norwegian assistance, as it has suffered considerably from the consequences of the war in Ukraine. The prime minister also praised the Moldovan authorities' progress in the process of implementing the European reform agenda, including the energy sector.

Energy Minister Victor Parlicov underlined Moldova's commitment to strengthening energy sustainability and spoke about ambitious plans in the energy efficiency, renewable energy, digitalization and cybersecurity of the energy sector.

“Moldova is committed to accelerating the transition to a greener and more sustainable energy future, cooperation and support from credible partners such as Norway is crucial to achieve what we set out to do,” said the prime minister.
