SOCIAL DEMOCRATIC PLATFORM INVITES DA PLATFORM TO MEET WITH EXTRA-PARLIAMENTARY PARTIES

SOCIAL DEMOCRATIC PLATFORM INVITES DA PLATFORM TO MEET WITH EXTRA-PARLIAMENTARY PARTIES The Social Democratic Platform has called upon the Civil Platform “Demnitate si Adevar” [DA, “Dignity and Justice”] to organize a meeting with extra-parliamentary parties to discuss the establishment of a united party to take part in elections.

Centrist Union of Moldova (CUM) Chairman Mihai Petrache stated at a news conference at Infotag that the Social Democratic Platform supports the actions of protest against the policy of incumbent authorities.

Petrache remarked, however, that the DA leaders have proposed the dismissal of all power braches simultaneously, which is unrealizable.

“Even if the authorities obey to the demands, the vacant place of President Timofti will be occupied by a Timofti-2. As for the Parliament, the DA will not be able to dissolve it”, said Mihai Petrache.

Initially, the SD Platform was ready to cooperate with DA. But after DA leaders stated on September 13 their intention to establish a political party, many people came to feel that they were simply used by DA in its mercenary interests.

The SD Platform representatives said that their news conference was a call to unity and, simultaneously, a warning to the DA Platform.

“Otherwise the Moldovan society will be supplied with full information about what is really happening with the DA Platform and what the real goals of its leaders are”, said the news conference participants.
