NOSC MEMBER ACCUSES COMMITTEE PRESIDENT OF PROMOTING CORRUPTION SCHEMES AND ILLEGAL ELECTION

Ivan Gheorghiu, a member of the National Olympic and Sports Committee (NOSC) and President of the Wrestling Federation of Moldova accused President of the Committee Nicolae Juravschi of promoting corruption schemes, illegal election for the position and undisguised pressure on some members of the executive committee of the public organization.

He reported at a press conference that “we’ve got plenty of questions for 20 years of his uncontrolled management in the Committee”.

Gheorghiu said that the today’s meeting agenda of the NOSC executive committee includes “discussion of the behavior of some members of the NOSC executive committee”. In his words, in September 20, Juravschi once again organized his own illegal election as a head of the NOSC.

“Neither the Charter of the Committee, nor its Provisions prescribes that the General Meeting is held in the form of electronic voting. A year ago, Juravschi actually organized his illegal re-election, taking advantage of the pandemic. And it is not the only illegal act committed by him. I once again draw law enforcers’ attention to the alarming and crisis situation in the largest public organization. Let me remind you that the NOSC is a public structure, and not Juravschi’s personal one”, Gheorghiu noted.
