“Stop PAS! Start Freedom!” is the name of the campaign launched on Tuesday by the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (LDPM) Chairman, ex-Prime Minister Vlad Filat.   

Speaking at a news conference held at INFOTAG, Filat reminded that yet 15 years ago he had started a campaign called “Moldova without Voronin, Moldova without Communists!” because “it was clear already then that the republic would no longer withstand the authoritarian rule.”

“I didn’t think history would repeat itself. But now the moment has come to say clearly: Stop PAS! Start to Freedom! The Party of Action and Solidarity is not a political organization. It is a social phenomenon - dangerous and toxic. This is a radical group. Two years of the PAS rule led to our economy destruction. More than 88 thousand Moldovans were forced to leave the country. PAS subjugated state institutions, and at the same time weakened them. Maia Sandu supported the attack on state institutions, allowing people to be divided into those who deserve continuing to work and the rest, into ‘good people’ and bad ones,” Filat believes.

According to him, “Sandu was never able to become a president for all citizens, remaining the leader of PAS, and now the policy of the PAS authorities is aimed at bringing Moldova to its knees.”
