“CONSTELLATION” FESTIVAL OPENS NEW PROSPECTS FOR MOLDOVAN ACTORS
Chisinau. The participation of the Moldovan delegation in the XVI “Constellation” International festival opens new prospects and new cooperation possibilities for Moldovan actors.
Producer, Head of the Actors’ Agency Valeriu Jereghi said at a news conference in Infotag on Thursday that the Moldovan delegation, consisting of actresses Mihaela Strimbeanu and Irina Cojocaru, as well as singers Geta Burlacu and Natalia Gordienco participated in the festival in Tver, as special guests.
In his words, the participation in the festival was a step towards the resumption of cinematographic cooperation with Russian producers, which are interested in making films in Moldova, provided their money will not be spent in vain.
Jerighi also said that the Moldovan delegation gave concerts for the participants in the festival almost every day.
“We have already received seven invitations for the participation in international festivals and it is the result of our success at this festival”, he considers.
Jereghi remarked that at the festival representatives of many agencies decided to set up an International Association of Actors, the database of all the CIS actors and give them a possibility to participate in the shooting of films both in their own land and abroad.
Mihaela Strimbanu stressed that, as a result of the festival, Moldova will be viewed not only as a country of gastarbeiters and builders, but also as a state, where there are a lot of talents.
She remarked that she hopes for a rather quick revival of the Moldovan cinematography.
Valeiu Jereghi said that the Moldovan female participants in the festival will participate in his new film titled “The Birds of Passage”.
The Actors’ Agency, headed by Jereghi was set up 2006 for the purpose of promoting Moldovan actors at the local and international levels. At present the number of its members accounts for 40 persons.
