MOLDOVAN WOMEN’S HEALTH STATE CAN BE EXAMINED FREE OF CHARGE IN RAIONS

Chisinau. The AVON  company and the Diaconia mission of the Basarabian Metropolitan See are conducting a campaign titled “Pass Examination Now. Only You Can Know, if Everything is O. K. with You”.

Representative of the AVON organization Stela Tederascu said at a news conference in Infotag on Tuesday that the campaign is designed for one year, in the course of which 10 thousand women can examine their breast.

“The AVON issued a series of posters, which will be placed in various localities and where the arrival date of a doctor, who will carry the examination, will be given. We also issued a reference book on female breast health in Romanian and Russia”, she remarked.

In Toderascu’s words, the campaign is financed at the cost of profits, obtained from the sale of the AVON products.

Doctor Dorel Dumraveanu, who participates in this campaign and examines women’s breast health, said that the company was launched now, though the examinations began in July.

“I have already visited five raions, where I examined more than 1300 women. The objective of these examinations is to prevent breast cancer. This disease can be cured, if it is revealed in time”, Dumbraveanu said.

He says that women, who are revealed to have signs of this disease, will be registered and, if necessary, sent to an oncological hospital. The examination is free. On Wednesday the doctor will go to Nisporeni, where he will examine women during three days.

According to the Oncology Institute, comedocarcinoma is the most common disease among women. In 2007 in Moldova more than 750 women, suffering from this disease, were revealed.
