Chisinau, September 28 (Infotag). European and Eurasia young political leaders participating in the seminar in Chisinau have announced the opening of their own site - www.democraticyouth.net.

On Thursday at a press conference Representative of young political leaders of Serbia Natasha Yudic expressed an opinion that the site will help consolidating forces of young politicians from various countries and will give them a chance to communicate.

“The need for the site opening was already voiced last year at a the seminar in Macedonia. This year we have created this site by efforts of the seminar participants. Each who desires can express his opinion and discuss a question he is interested in at the forum”, Yudic said.

According to her, this virtual network will enhance possibilities, it will allow successfully promoting ideas of young leaders.

The participants in the seminar read their final declaration which outlined the planned actions on promoting democracy in their countries. In their opinion, the corruption problem is one of threats for a democratic society, that is why, they decided to combat it on various levels.

“We believe that promoting civic education, youth participation in the political process and cross border dialogue among young leaders is a crucial component to securing our commitments to democratic values”, the declaration says.

East-European and Eurasia young political leaders called upon youth for participating in combating reprisals, corruption and totalitarianism.

62 young political leaders from Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Georgia, Kosovo, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, Romania, Russia, and Ukraine participated in the seminar. It was organized by a collaborative effort by the International Republican Institute (IRI), the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI) and the American Council of Young Political Leaders. The USAID was the sponsor of the seminar.
