“YOUNG GUARD” GOING TO DEFEND YOUTH’S RIGHTS AND BUILD NEW MOLDOVA

The list of youth organizations in Moldova has been replenished with one more – the Young Guard, founded under the Socialist Party banners.

Eugenia Bitca of the organization said at a news conference in Infotag today that the new formation’s constituent congress will be held in Leogrand Hotel of Chisinau next Sunday.

“At the congress, we will discuss projects and actions to be realized in the nearest future. The congress will be attended by organization activists from Balti, Comrat, the raions of Singerei, Drochia, Ceadir-Lunga, Orhei, Dubasari, as well as invited guests from foreign youth organizations”, said Bitca.

Her comrade Marina Radvan has called the Komsomol [communist youth league], from which most of the Young Guard members came lately, “a dead organization”.

“Its projects would not be realized. But we want to work, and we shall realize social, cultural, sportive and other projects. The Young Guard unites already more than 4 hundred members – young energetic people with various talents and capacities, who are ready to work and struggle for the truth and youth’s rights”, said Radvan.

Nichita Turca of the organization stated that the Young Guard is not going to take part in the Saturday march of the Communists and their supporters.
