UKRAINIAN HUMAN RIGHTS ORGANIZATION DEMANDS FROM MOLDOVA HUMANITARIAN AID FOR DONBAS CHILDREN Nicolai Kojushko, Chairman of the Ukrainian human rights organization “Dopomojemo Dityam” [Let Us Help Children] demands from Moldova humanitarian aid for children from Donbas [region in Eastern Ukraine, where armed conflict is conducted].

 

He said on Thursday press conference at Infotag that he has already turned for help to the Moldovan President Nicolai Timofti’s administration, where he has been promised help by sending letters with demand of help to all the Moldovan organizations.

 

“Moldova is the first country, helping to Donbas children, especially the orphans from the Eastern Ukraine. Besides Moldova, our organization will hold conferences in Minsk (Belarus), Ukraine, Crimea, the USA, France and Germany, where will ask from citizens and NGOs for humanitarian aid for children”, said Kojushko.

 

The organization president has told that in Donetsk and Lugansk regions of Ukraine, where currently the combat operations are conducted, over 23 thousand children are living, 7 thousand of which are orphans. “Many of them need drink, food, clothing, detergents. Over the time of military operations in these regions, 20 children aged from 8 to 15, died.”

 

“We are cooperating with Moldovan Children’s Fund “Speranta” [Hope] for already two years and over this time they have allocated to us around 4.5 tons of humanitarian help. I hope that Moldovan citizens will not be indifferent and will help to the extent possible”, said the Chairman.
