ASSOCIATION GEW MOLDOVA ORGANIZES BUSINESS WEEK The World Business Week will be conducted on November 17 to 23 in Moldova. It is organized by the Gew Moldova Association with the aim to contribute to development of business for the good of national economy.

 

Chairperson of the Association Olesea Fortuna said at the Monday’s press conference at Infotag that the World Business Week is an international movement which began in 37 countries in 2007 and currently is held in 150 countries of the world.

 

“The event is aimed at developing the entrepreneurship for flourishing of the nation and global economic growth. It started in 2007 on the eve of the global crisis and began to develop in 2008, when jobs have been cut and entrepreneurs began to create jobs by themselves”, said Fortuna.

 

According to her, the business week is held in Moldova for the second consecutive year with participation of 10 regions.

 

“This year there will be organized trainings, roundtables and discussions with participation of business environment representatives. Firstly, we will attract representatives of such important branches as agriculture, light industry or information technologies (IT). Also there will be discussions on the topic of business in healthcare sector, to see how we can support this sector, able to attract large investments from abroad”, said Fortuna.

 

She also stressed that one day of the business week will be dedicated exclusively to women’s entrepreneurship.

 

“We will organize seminar, where 50 women will participate, almost one-half of which are from regions, in order to improve their skills. On this seminar two experts from Romania will speak – Catrinel Zaharia and Mihaela Gheran, who will help our to women develop their business”, said Fortuna.

 

Also, trainings will be organized for people, who desire to start their own business, especially in rural area. The focus will be put on innovational development of the business and wide usage of IT.

 

“Without corresponding application of innovation technologies in the field of business environment, it is very difficult for Moldova to move on”, said the Association Head.

 

The events, organized by Gew Moldova will be conducted mainly in the Academy of Economic Sciences. Fee for participation is 50 lei.

 

In 2013, within the business week in Moldova, 23 national partners organized 21 events, where over 1000 businesspeople from 10 regions participated.
