LAWYER SAYS CHISINAU DEPUTY PROSECUTOR SHOULD BE DISMISSED

Chisinau Deputy Prosecutor Andrei Pantea should be dismissed from function for his obvious connections with the criminal world, stated lawyer Anna Ursachi at Wednesday’s news conference at Infotag.

She reminded that his telephone conversations with criminal Ion Soltoianu, serving a sentence for murdering a policeman appeared on Tuesday night in Internet.

“I expected for the prosecutor’s reaction, but it failed to follow. Instead of announcing his resignation, Pantea said that the records were falsified, while the situation has been plotted by the prison administration”, said Ursachi.

According to her, this is not the first case of Pantea’s intercourse with people, sentenced for serious crimes.

“There was a similar scandalous case with Ion Tiganas, who was saying he had connections with the prosecutor. The most interesting thing in this situation was that Tiganas provided to the prison administration a contact number of nobody else but Pantea’s driver back in the period when Andrei Pantea was Moldova’s First Deputy Prosecutor General”, said the driver.

She maintains that Pantea is connected with one more case of pressure upon investigation.

“In 2013, Anna Munteanu was murdered in Filipeni village (Leova raion). Investigation materials say that the murder was ordered to the unidentified executor by the village mayor. When prosecutor Ion Casu came to arrest the official, he was called by Pantea. It is unknown what they discussed about, but after this call the mayor was released, while the case was sent to Chisinau. An interesting fact is that the mayor was elected on the Democratic Party ticket, who formed the ruling alliance in Moldova”, said Ursachi.

The lawyer addressed a rhetoric question to country’s Prosecutor General Corneliu Gurin, wondering about what the internal security service of the agency is doing and why would it not pay attention to the offensive-criminal activity of prosecutor Pantea.
