On November 20-24, Chisinau will host the 12th international festival of theatrical and cinema schools “Classfest”. One of its organizers, Svetlana Tartau, said at a press conference at INFOTAG on Friday that this time the festival is dedicated to the art of cinema.

“It will allow not only to demonstrate the works of Moldovan and foreign authors, but to conduct an exchange of experience that will help in the formation of young filmmakers. The festival will contribute to the promotion, development and originality of the creativity of young directors, cinematographers, film and television producers,” noted Tartau.

The festival will bring together the representatives of the following film schools: State Institute of Theater and Cinematography (Yerevan, Armenia); School of Film and Audiovisual Sciences - ESCAT (Tours, France); University of Television and Film - HFF (Munich, Germany); State University of Theater and Cinema named after Shota Rustaveli (Georgia); Academy of Fine Arts (Florence, Italy); National School of Film, Television and Theater (Lodz, Poland), National University of Theater and Cinematography (Romania); Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts (Chisinau, Moldova).

During the festival, more than 70 feature films, documentaries and animations will be shown, followed by discussions. Festival participants will undergo training in master classes coordinated by filmmakers from Romania and Germany.

The opening ceremony of Classfest 2023 will take place on November 20 at 18:30 at the ARTCOR Center for the Development of Creative Industries (31 August St., No. 137).
