Chisinau, November 29 (Infotag). Leader of the national futsal (a.k.a. mini-football) championship FC Toligma has reinforced its ranks with Rafael Rodrigues de Araujo (Brazil); the contract was signed Monday at a news conference in Infotag.

President of the club Gennady Corpocean said the contract is for two years but refused to disclose its value. Rafael Rodrigues de Araujo is the first Brazilian to find its way into the national futsal league and the fourth foreigner to defend the colours of Toligma.

Alongside three Ukrainians, Corpocean expressed hope that the new player will add quality to the team’s performance.

Toligma’s eyes this year are set on both, the National Cup and the National Championship.

Widely regarded as a universal player the Brazilian will kick off his Moldovan career with a game against Sokol Tiraspol this week.

Rafael Rodrigues de Araujo, born 16 June 1982 in Pernambuko, Brazil, is married with a daughter aged four. Apart from his home country, prior to coming to Moldova, he has played in Portugal and Georgia.
