22.02.2007 BAYER CROPSCIENCE AND CHATEAU VARTELY JOINTLY MONITOR WINE PRODUCE QUALITY

Chisinau, February 22 (Infotag). The companies of Bayer CropScience and Chateau Vartely have accomplished the pilot phase of the Partnership Program project called “From Production Harmony to Harmony of Life”.

Bayer CropScience representative Artur Zgardan said at the news conference held in the framework of ExpoVin Moldova’2007 international exhibition that the Project was launched in the spring of 2006 to ensure control over the quality and safety of grapes at all stages of growing. Throughout the grape vegetation period, the Project ensured a joint monitoring of the vineyard conditions at 18 commercial farms in southern Moldova, carried out chemical protection of the plantations by using the most up-to-date techniques, etc.

Finally, the grown grapes and wines made of them were subjected to quality and safety analyses, held in particular at the Dr. Specht Laboratorien EUROFINS ANALYTIK GmbH at Hamburg (Germany).

Zgardan said the analysis results were found to correspond to the regulations on the maximum admissible concentration of plant-protection substances in the products in conformity with the German Maximum Residue Level Regulations (GER) and the EU Directives (EU).

In his words, the monitoring has confirmed that the plant-protection materials made by Bayer CropScience are highly efficient in Moldova conditions and permit creating high-quality and safe products. Wines made by Chateau Vartely are absolutely safe for the human health, meeting the European Union quality and safety requirements.

Bayer CropScience is a leading player at the world market of plant protection products. The corporation works in over 120 countries of the world. Chateau Vartely was founded in 1996.
