Representatives of a number of sports associations called on voters to vote on July 11 in early parliamentary elections for the PCRM-PSRM bloc.

At a press conference on Friday in Infotag, multiple champion of Moldova, international chess grandmaster Svetlana Petrenco said that the leaders of the bloc - Vladimir Voronin and Igor Dodon - themselves promote a healthy lifestyle, and this is extremely important for Moldovan society.

“At various times, they supported the development of sports in the nutria of the country, and also facilitated the participation of athletes from Moldova in competitions abroad. They won there, and thus strengthened the country's image on the world stage. In 2020, Igor Dodon, for the first time in eight years, contributed to the organization of a joint tournament for boxers from Moldova and Transnistria. And this is a huge plus for strengthening relations between the two banks of the Dniester,” the champion stated.

In addition, Petrenco recalled that the head of the PSRM invited the then FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov to the country, and recently the world chess champion Anatoli Karpov visited the country, which is undoubtedly necessary for the development of chess as a unique sport.

Sergiu Borgan, a member of the Chess Federation of the Republic of Moldova, noted that both Voronin and Dodon have always acted and are now in favor of promoting family and religious values traditional for the Moldovan society.
