23 may, 2024

“The evaluation of the judicial system will continue no matter what, as it is the only instrument that can provide it with incorruptible personnel,” Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu stated at a meeting with the President of the Venice Commission (VC), Claire Bazy Malaurie, and the Head of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), Siofra O'Leary, who are in Chisinau for the XIX Congress of the Conference of European Constitutional Courts.

The press service of the legislative body informed that the main topics of discussion were the evolution of the Moldovan justice system and the fulfillment of the remaining recommendations of the European Commission.

The speaker expressed confidence that "with the support of friends and partners in the EU, Moldova will be able to meet all the challenges with dignity, especially in autumn, when two important electoral processes - presidential elections and referendum - are to be organized."

"On 20 October, Moldovan citizens will clearly say that they want to be part of the big European family, this will be enshrined in the Constitution, and the responsible institutions will do their utmost to organize fair elections and protect citizens' votes," he stressed.
