​SOCIETY FOR PROTECTION OF BIRDS AND NATURE LAUNCHED CENSUS OF STORK NESTING SITES IN MOLDOVA

On the occasion of World Biodiversity Day, the Society for the Protection of Birds and Nature announced a census of white stork nesting sites in Moldova. It called on the inhabitants of the Republic to help in this action, which is part of the VIII International Stork Census, an important international project coordinated by @Naturschutzbund Deutschland. During the 2019 census, for example, 415 stork nests were identified in Moldova, most of all - 248 - on concrete and wooden (69) poles. The oldest stork nest in Moldova is considered to be the nest in the village of Poganesti (Hincesti district), which is about 200 years old.
