Austria will allocate two million euros to implement a new program to reduce poverty in Moldova. This was announced by Labor and Social Protection Minister Alexei Buzu, who met with his Austrian counterpart Johannes Rauch in Vienna on Thursday, INFOTAG reports.

According to the minister, the grant from the Austrian government will contribute to the development of measures to reduce and prevent poverty or mitigate the negative socio-economic impact of multiple crises on people suffering from poverty and vulnerable groups. The program includes ensuring the availability, quality and accessibility of care and health services.

“It includes measures for social inclusion, to promote independent living without discrimination for people with disabilities, to prevent and combat gender-based violence. The program also includes measures to combat child poverty and promote the health and well-being of children. In addition, measures are envisaged for the social protection of vulnerable and disadvantaged groups of the population and the expansion of social protection systems,” the Minister emphasized, thanking his counterpart “for the unconditional and constant support provided to Moldova”.
