Transnistrian economic agents' deliveries of goods abroad by early May totaled 228.7 million dollars, only 1% less than a year ago. According to the data of the customs committee of the region, imports decreased by 39%, to 603.1 million dollars, while the trade balance deficit almost halved to 376.4 million dollars.

Exports were dominated by metals and metal products - 67.4 million dollars (+4%), fuel and energy products - 58.8 million dollars (-8%) and food products and raw materials - 57.3 million dollars, which accounted for more than 80% of all supplies abroad. Moreover, fuel and energy goods are mainly electric power supplied to the right bank of the Dniester, to Moldova, which is considered by the authorities of the region as a "neighboring country."

The main trade partner of Transnistria remains Russia, which accounts for 42.2% of the total foreign trade turnover of the region. It is followed by Moldova with 21.9% and Romania with 11.8%. The share of the EU is 25%, and the EAEU - 43.6% (at the expense of Russia - "I.").

According to experts, the foreign trade indicators clearly confirm the absence of any economic pressure or blockade, which the region's authorities never tire of accusing Moldova of.
