Chisinau, March 21 (Infotag). The “Our House is Chisinau” Association is searching for political forces in Moldova for supporting it at local elections to the Chisinau Municipal Council. It was said at a press conference on Wednesday in Infotag.

Association Chairman Oleg Oniscenco said that the association will offer its candidates for the posts of the General Mayor and municipal councilors.

“We are a non-governmental organization and our team cannot participate in the elections. That is why, we make a cooperation proposal to parties”, Oniscenco said.

He did not say, which political entities he would prefer to cooperate with, but remarked, if he fails to come to agreement with anyone, he does not rule out that he can participate in the elections as an independent candidate.

“We think about the prosperity of Chisinau citizens. In order to change the situation in the capital city for the better, it is necessary to change the attitude of the local authorities to the city population. The objective of the association consists in bringing a team of professional to governing the municipality”, Oniscenco said.

He estimates his chances to win at the upcoming elections in the capital city as rather considerable.

“We are virtually the only organization, which defends the rights of the Chisinau citizens for more than two years. We have no time to wait four years more, the Chisinau citizens do not wish to put up with indifference of the city officials any longer”, Oniscenco underlined.

The Moldovan political entities, including the Social Liberal Party, the Centrist Union of Moldova come out for uniting the forces of oppositional parties and for putting forward a joint Chisinau mayor candidate.

By the present moment candidates for the General Mayor post were put forward by the Liberal Party – Deputy Chairman of the Party Dorin Chirtoaca; the Democratic Party – Deputy Chairman of the Party, Parliamentarian Vladimir Filat; the National Liberal Party – Party Chairman Vitalia Pavlicenco; the Social Democratic Party –Party Chairman Eduard Musuc.
