Chisinau, April 24 (Infotag). The Chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Moldova, the SDPM candidate for Chisinau Mayor Eduard Musuc presented his electoral platform at a news conference in Infotag today.

“The platform is based on the results of my numerous meetings with citizens. They told me what problems they come across and what they would like to be changed in Chisinau. So, we have determined the main priorities of the platform: bettering of the people’s living standards, a real growth of incomes, legal protection of citizens and strict provision of law enforcement, bettering of the city structures’ work, and other”.

Musuc promised that if he is elected Mayor, he would be allocating 12-15% of the municipal budget for housing repairs, not 1.5% as now.

“We shall establish strict order in the utility service sphere so that consumers’ rights be duly observed. Over next 4 years, we shall increase the fund of extra social payments up to 17% at the expense of greater revenues to the municipal budget. Pensioners shall be receiving additional pensions from the Municipality – 100 lei a month in 2008 to grow up to 400 lei a month in 2011”, said the candidate.

He also promised that the Chisinau Municipality will come to have new structures, as e.g. a municipal department for small businesses protection and a fund for support and development of entrepreneurship.

Eduard Musuc also promised to bring the Antena C radio and the EuroTV channel back into the municipal ownership.
