According to the organizers of these hearings, representatives of the Transnistrian and Russian authorities, of the region’s enterprises, scientific community, civil organizations, as well as prominent Transnistrian economists and media outlets have been invited to take part in the event.

“The main purpose of organizing the parliamentary hearings is to assess the current situation in the Transnistrian economy and to work out a set of measures meant to improve the economic conditions, with regard to the foreign economic challenges that stem from Moldova’s intentions to initial the Association Agreement with the European Union,” says the statement.

Previously, the public chamber of Transnistria decided to submit an appeal to the peoples of Ukraine, Moldova, Russia, Gagauzia, Abkhazia and South Ossetia, which encompasses the opinion of the Transnistrian people on the upcoming Eastern Partnership Summit in Vilnius.

The main goal of this document is to enlist the popular support and understanding, in order to protect the interests of the Transnistrian Moldovan Republic and of its citizens.

“The main effect that is expected from this appeal is the international recognition of Transnistria. Now, we have to address to all the possible entities, including to the international legal entities, in order to successfully complete this procedure.
