MOLDOVAN FOREIGN MINISTER DISCUSSES COOPERATION PRIORITIES AND TRADE DEVELOPMENT WITH CZECH AMBASSADOR

On Thursday, Foreign Minister Mihai Popsoi met with Czech Ambassador to Moldova Stanislav Kazecky. The Foreign Ministry's press service reported that the sides discussed cooperation priorities and topical issues on the agenda of Moldovan-Czech relations, prospects of cooperation by organizing high-level visits and further development of trade and economic relations.

Popsoi praised the positive impact of the Czech assistance in the context of reducing the energy vulnerability. He thanked the Czech Republic for its commitment to keep Moldova on the list of priority states in the cooperation programme for the 2024-2030 period.

The minister praised the Czech Republic's consistent political and diplomatic support for Moldova's European path, in the context of the European Council's decisions of December 2023 and March 2024 to initiate talks on Moldova's accession to the European Union.

The sides also exchanged views on the existing challenges in the context of the regional situation.

INFOTAG Reference: In 2023, Moldova's foreign trade with the Czech Republic reached $323.4 million (33.36% growth compared to 2022). Moldovan exports amounted to $160.92 (+54.6%), imports - $165.52 million (+19.7%).
