ECONOMIST: IN 2024, CITIZENS' INCOMES WILL INCREASE SIGNIFICANTLY AND WELFARE WILL BE TWICE AS HIGH AS IN 1991

“In 2024, the real incomes of citizens will increase significantly and the welfare of citizens will be twice as high as in the year of independence,” the author of the program "Economic Analyses with Veaceslav Ionita" said this on Fruday.

The economist notes that in 1993, compared to 1991, two years after independence, the income of the population decreased almost five times. And only by 2008 began to exceed the indicators of 1991 (growth of 9.1%).

"In 2010 - incomes grew by 18.1%, in 2011. - By 12.2%, in 2012. - By 19.9%; 2014. - By 31.5%; 2020. - by 87.9%; 2022 by 66.5%; 2023 by 89%; and the income they will receive in 2024 will surpass 1991 income by about 112.1%. In 2024, the real incomes of the population will be for the first time more than twice as high as in 1991. The incomes of citizens will allow them to buy twice as much in 2024 as in the year of independence," Ionita believes.

At the same time, out of these "238 billion lei - 151 billion lei will constitute the official income, while 87 billion lei will come from the shadow economy."

According to the analyst, in 2000, the average gross salary was 35.5 euros; in 2005 - 84 euros; 2010 - 181 euros; 2015 - 217 euros, 2020 - 402 euros, 2021 - 429 euros, 2022 - 525 euros, 2023 - 622 euros, 2024 - estimated at 740 euros.
