WITH ASSISTANCE OF EUROPEAN PARTNERS, LAW ENFORCERS FROM MOLDOVA AND ROMANIA DETAINED PIMPS OF DISABLED WOMAN

With the assistance of European partners, law enforcers of Moldova and Romania detained pimps of a disabled woman. 16 years ago, three men from Nisporeni: father, son and grandson (ages 63, 42 and 21) forced the victim to beg in several countries, including Lithuania, Russia and Romania. The woman had two children in her arms. The pimps received up to 500 euros of income daily from her begging. To cover up the traces of the years-long crime, the woman was forced into a barque with one of the perpetrators. During searches in Suceava and Nisporeni, posters asking for help - in different European languages - as well as weapons were seized. All three men were taken into custody.
