Dmitri Torner. My game is getting just started .

An exclusive interview with Dmitri Torner post-scandal at the NOSK meeting.

The regular meeting of the National Olympic Sports Committee, held on November 29, ended in scandal. Probably, it was one of the most high-profile scandals in recent years.

The reason for this was the appointment the person with the controversial biography Dmitri Torner -as a NOSK Vice-president.

We have decided to seek for comment to him. Itappears ,that is his first media interview.

Because our meeting is triggered by scandal, let we start with. Tell us, please, your iteration of the scandal.

Before my comment I would like to dwell on the background.

For your understanding, this is my first media interview. So it turns out, that my biography has been told by anybody in a speculative way.

Coming into the sport was for me both an accidence and largely predetermination.In one way or another, business, communication, policy, public processes had been a part of a various stages of my life.With the Biathlon Federation of the Republic of Moldova ( BFRM) i got acquainted in 2021.FormerPresident decidedto step down for reasons of health. The biathlon had been interesting for me as a fan. I realized , that this sport is quite expensive and started to contribute in. My tenure as an acting head of the Federation lasted about a year, after i was elected as the President of the BFRM. There wereno pitfalls– Iprovidedfinancial support , established relations with IBU ( International Biathlon Union), caught fire with a projects. First of all, we should have the infrastructure for summer biathlon. But as some says: «there is to much biathlon in the Moldovan sports news» , I ´dprefer to do not dwella lot on it.

In fact, NOSC in my life has been emerged as a broader perspective in provision of a new opportunities being useful for sport in general, not only for the biathlon . At least, i was thinking like that. No expectationsfor kind of benefits from NOSK, vise-versaI focused on support to the Moldovan sport as much as possible. Newly, for example, we have financed a clothingfor our juniors olympic team, that was much before my appointment . The reason is to see our athletes in a new contemporary uniform. Get agree -our biathletes outfitwith the elements of national identity as looks cooler during TV-broadcastingas rises up our team and fans fortitude.

- You were invited by NOSK at the leading position , expecting your financial support?

- I am persuaded, that largely so on . But i have articulated precisely and stated openly at the NOSK meeting, that my main purposes are the investors attracting, international connections and relations development, collaboration for the investments in Moldovan sport.

No sooner had you been elected to the position , than at the next day Media has published an unflatteringfacts about your past. As a result, you have withdrawnyour candidacy and NOSC has messaged about reconsidering of its decisionfrom 29-th of November…

It was very difficult for me to assume that such a situation would have beenarise. I did not know that there was an internal struggle going on in NOSC.Articles and program about me have been done the day after the elections day . It looks like someone is settling personal scores with the NOSC and the head of the committee.

This is a long-term history, as I have realized, but it has absolutely nothing to do with me, I had nothing to do with it. We could have been a companions in the competing for medals, but someone has chosento be in the cockroach race. That's his choice, and I applieda statement to the NOSC. This is not my game. My game is getting just started.

I think, we will be able to have a talking about sports plans at other time. Right now is much more interesting for us to pose thequestions about your past.It is quit controversial, taking into account all written about you.

- Let start with the past, I agree.I guess, we will have time to discuss a future and, I am confident , it will be no less impressive.By the way, media-history written about me in 2019,2021 and now in 2023 was none other than a mix of facts and speculations. There were those, who laid eyes on my businessat the beginning of 2000-s, there were those who «squeezed it out». There was made a sensation from perverted and interpreted facts despite the history ordinariness tfor hat time.

- Not knowing where are the facts or conjecture in your biography, let’s go through the stages. The problems with the law. What was the history with the conviction? As I can assume, you have been in businessin the 90-s, the strings are drawn from there?

- I ‘ll tell you this:my biography was «sculpted» in media on the directions and the treatments of the security forces that time (2000-s begining). A real details are based on the logical questions.

A few words about my first steps in business.I was growing up in a poor family. Still at school I started to earn money at the photo -studio, afterword I launched my own business.Later I enlarged my business in Romania and I was accusedof stealling a cellphone , of selling the items from the appartements, which I officially rented on my passport. Would be able to be a ridiculous, if the realitywas not so horrible . So, there was a regular scheme for that time - I was set up, my business was «squeezed out» , that it is called, and later I got sued. But I have not been broken, I didn’t give up. The test of strength has arisen more than once in my life.

- As well You were charged, that you escaped from the prison…

- Complete nonsense.I was released legally, got married right away, celebrated a wedding. Who do so with the intention of hiding?

-Anyway, about the weddings. You were accusedin the family names changing as well as in a numerous marriages…

-I had been looking for family all my life and I have found it out.Regarding my previous marriages and family names changing ,there were my personal reasons to do that. It is not related to the falsified history and it is definitely no linked withthe intention of hiding from somebody. Obviously, those who artificially«created» my biography in 2019-2021 have a sick imagination , they tried to fill it out by the most absurd facts. Strangely , that I have not been charged yetin the Kennedy killing. Probably, I was born in 20 years later, it was only saved me.Otherwise, they could well do it.

-Do the law enforcement authorities from any countries have any claims against you right now?

-No. In no country in the world.Every month I pass passport control several times.No questions to me from the boarder control departments and police neither in the EU nor in Ukraine and Moldova.I am not a wanted men. That is confirmed documentary. They were published in the Ukrainian media, they stated that the case against me has been closed for absence of corpus delicti.

-If we start to talk about the future.What are you planning to do?Will you go for fighting for theNOSC position?

- There is no the question for today.The main purpose for me to implement all of planned initiatives. Will be doing so with NOSC or without , I do not realize yet. ButI have a great deal of scope for action on my current position as The President of the Biathlon Federation of the Republic of Moldova.Until somebody will compete for the positions, we will compete for the medals. At the moment this slogan precisely reflects the way I think .
