ACUM IS GETTING READY FOR MOLDOVA'S APPLICATION FOR EU MEMBERSHIP IN 2023

The election bloc promises to do everything possible in order that Moldova to submit the application for membership in the European Union by 2023.

The bloc Co-Chairperson Maia Sandu said at the Tuesday's press conference that the current authorities moved Moldova away from the European Union by their irresponsible actions: the formation of a "nighttime" Government, which is serving the usurper (Chairman of the ruling Democratic Party Vlad Plahotniuc); the approval of the election system, useful for the DP-PSRM tandem; the providing of cover to participants of the bank fraud; the invalidation of the Chisinau mayor election results and tough deportation of teachers (from the network of Moldovan-Turkish lyceums "Orizont").

"All this forced the EU institutes, including the European Parliament, to sound the alarm, insisting on returning the captured state to the citizens. The process of the European integration implies social transformation, when people's living standards will gradually achieve European standards. The ACUM bloc is the only formation which can become a guarantor to this process, undertaking the fulfillment of the EU-Moldova Association Agreement in order that in 2023 to apply for joining the EU", Sandu said.

Another Co-Chairman of the bloc Andrei Nastase said that the European integration implies the using of best practices of Western Europe democracies and the EU accession will lead to the improvement of living conditions in Moldova till the level of Germany, Belgium, Austria.

The ACUM leadership also outlined the priorities in the external policy in case they come in power: rehabilitation of relations with the EU and defrosting of the European macro-financial assistance, strategic partnership with the US and Romania, as well as unconditional removing of the Russian troops from the territory of Moldova.
