CHISINAU MAYOR ION CEBAN WANTS TO "CONCENTRATE WITH MAYOR'S OFFICE TEAM ON WORK IN CITY"

Chisinau mayor and chairman of the MAN party Ion Ceban intends to "concentrate with the City Hall team on the work in the city". He told the RLive TV channel that "this is especially necessary given the total chaos in the capital."

Touching on the topic of his possible participation in the upcoming presidential elections, Ceban emphasized that "nothing has changed."

"I had no such intentions. We will discuss it in the team, and when the right time comes, we will announce it. In the work of the mayor's office, we will promote EU standards, i.e. the rule of law, transparent use of public funds, appointment by competition. We ourselves need to change the situation for the better. No one will come to our house to do this work for us," he said.

According to him, "MAN supports the referendum on European integration."

"The party's program says that European integration should become a national idea of the whole Moldovan society. But now there is an intervention at the legislative level with great haste, without public discussion, without the intervention of constitutional experts. There are many misunderstandings at their level, as well as in society and abroad. The possibility of the upcoming referendum is very doubtful. In the countries where it was held, the plebiscite took place after the negotiations on accession to the European Union. I am afraid that someone is just trying to run an election campaign and favor one person who will participate in this process," believes Ceban.
