25 april, 2024

The Republic of Moldova presented the first 2024 progress report on reforms towards European integration to Brussels. As reported by INFOTAG, this was announced by Vice Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov.

“Moldova has made its first contribution to the EU enlargement package for 2024. In 2023, we managed to present a consistent and well-argued contribution, which was appreciated by colleagues in the commission. This fact demonstrates both our determination to move forward on the path of EU integration and the concrete actions we have taken to bring the country closer to the EU,” said Gherasimov.

Vice prime Minister thanked her colleagues from all state institutions – government, presidential and parliamentary administrations, ministries and agencies, as well as civil society, the business community, and the diaspora.

“We are fully committed to working with maximum involvement this year. European integration is a project for all of us, and its goal is to ensure peace and improve people's lives,” emphasized Gherasimov.

The purpose of the report is to assess the progress made by candidate countries in implementing reforms in each chapter of European legislation.
