VICE SPEAKER OF THE UKRAINIAN PARLIAMENT: EUROINTEGRATION IS A STRATEGIC COURSE THAT ENSURES THE SECURITY OF OUR COUNTRIES

Eurointegration is a strategic course that will ensure the security of Moldova and Ukraine.According to INFOTAG, this was stated by the deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kondratyuk on Monday at a joint press conference in Chisinau with the vice-chairwoman of the Moldovan Parliament Doina Gherman.

Olena Kondratyuk expressed hope that Moldova and Ukraine will start official negotiations on EU accession by the end of June.

Kondratyuk said that during the meetings with the Moldovan MPs, a string of important issues were discussed, including Moldova's participation in a peace conference to be held in Switzerland in June. Kondratyuk hopes that Moldova will play an “active role” in the conference, because the security of Europe and the whole world “depends on the situation in Ukraine”.

She urged Moldovan MPs to adopt another declaration “on justice” that deals with “the export of Ukrainian children to Russia”.

“We have already identified 20,000 children who were taken out of the territory of Ukraine. Resolutions condemning this practice have already been adopted by the US, Canada, Poland and others. We care about the resonance so that we can bring as many children home as possible. That is why it is very important for us that the Moldovan parliament adopts such a declaration,” Kondratyuk said.

The deputy chairman of Verkhovna Rada also emphasized the importance of continuing the sanctions policy so that “the frozen Russian assets are transferred to support and rebuild Ukraine.”

Kondratyuk expressed confidence that “Ukraine and Moldova will become full-fledged members of the EU”.
