​PRESIDENT MAIA SANDU: EUROINTEGRATION IS NOT JUST A BEAUTIFUL DREAM

Moldovan President Maia Sandu believes that “European integration is not just a beautiful dream, but a chance for peace and well-being for which all citizens of the country should work every day.” As INFOTAG reports, Sandu wrote about it in social networks on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the largest expansion of the European Union, when Cyprus, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Czech Republic, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia and Hungary joined the EU.

“This enlargement brought more than 70 million citizens under the EU umbrella, contributing to a larger, more diverse and more prosperous Union. EU enlargement has brought more security and a better life to the new members. Over the two decades, real wages have doubled and poverty rates have fallen as much. Life expectancy has increased from 75 years in 2004 to 79 years in 2023,” the head of state said.

According to Sandu, Moldovan citizens deserve the same.

“Joining the EU will bring a better life to Moldova,” Sandu said.
