The Party of Communists Chairman, Vladimir Voronin, discussed with Chinese Ambassador to Chisinau, Yang Wenbin, the political and socio-economic situation in Moldova, prospects for the development of Moldovan-Chinese cooperation, as well as various aspects of inter-party cooperation between the two fraternal parties. Voronin informed the diplomat about "serious risk factors for Moldova's sovereignty and independence, in particular the rapidly deteriorating situation in the national economy." "The country's inhabitants are losing jobs, deprived of their means of livelihood, as a consequence of which more than one million people have already left Moldova in search of income. (...) All structures of state power are paralyzed by corruption. The authorities probably count on the fact that the poorer the Moldovan citizens become, the easier it is to manipulate them," he said. The Chinese Ambassador confirmed the invitation from the CPC Central Committee to the Party of Communists to send a party delegation to Beijing to exchange experience.
