PRESIDENT CALLS ON CONSTRUCTION COMPANIES NOT TO COME TO CHISINAU PRIMARIA WITH BRIBES

President warned economic agents from Chisinau to stop coming to the Primaria [city government] with bribes for getting permits for building.

He stated about this in his traditional weekly live communication with citizens on his YouTube channel and in social networks, reminding that while in opposition the PSRM stopped a lot of illegal constructions in Chisinau.

"Back then there was chaos in this field. The permits for building were issued in exchange for 50 thousand to 100 thousand euros. Now the attempt to bribe the new mayor will not work. Ion Ceban is reporting to me about each of such proposals. The National Anti-Corruption Center (NACC) and other structures will deal with such cases", Dodon promised.

According to him, in Chisinau there are cases when multistory houses have been built illegally, where citizens have already bought apartments. Here, it is also necessary to seek a compromise solution.

"Nobody wants to stop the process of building in Chisinau, but it must be well organized. No building in parks, playing grounds - this is over", Dodon said.

Mayor Ion Ceban, who was speaking together with the head of state, stressed that the Primaria will be acting toughly in this direction.

"I warned building companies: no corrupt schemes. We are already working on automating the process of issuing permit documents and the first results are expected within a month", he said.
