​JUSTICE MINISTER TO CHECK JUDGES AND PROSECUTORS HANDLING ILAN SHOR CASE

Minister of Justice Fadei Nagacevschi promises to hold checks of judges and prosecutors, who are investigating the case against businessman and Chairman of a namesake party Ilan Shor.

He commented in social networks on the 23rd postponement of the Cahul Appeals Court hearing, where the Shor case is being considered. On charges of fraudulent actions and large-scale money laundering, the entrepreneur was sentenced to 7.5 years back in 2017, but then the verdict was challenged in higher court and is still pending consideration.

"This is a ridiculous situation, thus, as member of the Superior Council of Magistracy and the Superior Council of Prosecutors I will request checks of judges and prosecutors, who are investigating the case. I think they should be checked for disciplinary and professional competence", the minister wrote.

He also intends to address to the National Integrity Organ to check the judges and prosecutors from this perspective as well.
