​ON EASTER, EACH OF TWO METROPOLITANATES IN MOLDOVA WILL DELIVER HOLY FIRE FROM ISRAEL

On Easter, each of the two metropolises in Moldova will deliver from Israel "its own" holy fire. The Metropolis of Bessarabia said April 25 that it will deliver the holy fire to Chisinau on the eve of Easter. The Metropolis said in a statement that a special airplane will deliver the holy fire to Bucharest, Chisinau and Iasi. "The hierarchs of the Metropolis of Bessarabia, together with a delegation of clergy and believers, will meet the holy fire at the airport in Chisinau. Later, it will be distributed to parishes through three diocesan centers in Chisinau, Balti and Cahul," the Metropolis of Bessarabia said, noting that a group of priests will go on pilgrimage to Jerusalem on April 29. Earlier, the Metropolis of Moldova also reported that the holy fire will be delivered to Chisinau on Saturday evening, before Easter. The Metropolis of Moldova has been delivering the flame of grace to Chisinau for more than ten years in a row. In many cases the "delivery" has been sponsored by political parties. The Metropolis of Bessarabia will deliver the gracious fire to Chisinau for the first time.
